Saddle up for a unique Arctic adventure on horseback! This guided evening ride takes you through quiet winter trails under the night sky, far from city lights. With a bit of luck, the Northern Lights will appear and dance above as you ride through the stunning landscape.


This tour is ideal for those with some prior riding experience who want to combine their love of horses with the magic of the north. Our calm and sure-footed horses will take you safely through the terrain, allowing you to fully enjoy the moment.


Weather dependent – tours may be rescheduled in case of bad conditions.

Riding tour summer and winter


Join us for a peaceful horseback ride through beautiful and varied landscapes – a perfect way to experience nature in every season.


This tour combines forest trails with a scenic shoreline route. Depending on the tide, we may be able to ride along the beach – a truly special experience!


Whether it's the fresh colors of spring, the midnight sun of summer, the golden tones of autumn, or the crisp stillness of winter, each season offers its own unique charm.


If we’re lucky, we may spot local wildlife along the way – such as seals resting on the shore, sea eagles soaring above, or even a majestic moose crossing the trail.


No previous riding experience needed.

Far away from city lights and noise, this is a unique opportunity to experience the Aurora Borealis in a truly special way – close to nature and steeped in tradition.

Midnight sun ride on horseback


Experience the magic of the Arctic summer on horseback! Ride through stunning coastal and forest landscapes bathed in the golden glow of the midnight sun, guided by our calm and sure-footed Norwegian horses.


This scenic evening tour is perfect for all experience levels – whether you're a first-time rider or have some experience. Enjoy the peacefulness of the endless daylight and the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Important to know before you are going on a horseback ride

Cancellation

Cancellation must be made no later than 1 day (24 hours) before the trip is to be arranged, in case of cancellation later than this, the customer will be charged 100% of the amount of the booking. Unsubscribe must be done by sending an e-mail to tromsoturhest@gmail.com


Insurance

Participation in horse activities is at your own risk. You are responsible for having accident insurance that covers riding/horse activities. We recommend our guests to take out their own travel insurance


Meeting point

Meet at Marisletta farm, Straumsvegen 768, parkingplace on the right side when you come down from the main road. Beside red building. Walk further down to the courtyard to the big red building on the left. Here we will meet you when you arrive.


Equipment

Everyone must ride with a helmet and gloves on our tours.
We have helmets for loan. We also recommend that you ride with shoes that go over the ankle and that have a little heel.
It can get both cold and wet as the weather changes quickly, so remember warm clothes!


Weight limit

Most horses have different weight limits. The smallest ponies have 45 kg. The Lyngen horses have 80 kg and others 95 kg.


Participation at your own risk

Tromsø Turhest AS has liability insurance for its services. This means that any damage that may occur will be covered when it can be shown that the centre has acted negligently.

Tromsø Turhest AS cannot be held responsible for any injuries you may incur on a horseback ride or during activities/care of the horses.
For example, if you are stepped on by the horse, the horse jumps to the side/splashes, stumbles or the like, Tromsø Turhest AS or our tour guides will not be held responsible for any damage you may incur.
